PARTNERSHIPS

We have forged partnerships with literary foundations, charities and award-giving bodies. Among our partners are the Arvon Foundation, First Story, the Forward Poetry Prize, The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, The Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction and the Young Vic.

Avron Foundation

For more than 50 years Arvon has led the teaching of creative writing in the UK. CAT is working with Arvon to help refurbish and revitalise their Hebdon Bridge site, Lumb Bank – the former home of the poet laureate Ted Hughes.

Calibre Audio

Calibre Audio brings stories and learning to life for the blind and partially sighted. CAT made a donation towards Calibre’s 50th birthday celebrations with a grant to help promote its past achievements and its future planning.

First Story

First Story is a national organisation which offers opportunities to young people in under-served schools to participate in creative writing. CAT funds its annual festival in Cambridge.

New Writing North

New Writing North is the writing development agency for the North of England working to both identify talent and create career-changing opportunities. CAT contribute to its recently launched access engine, A Writing Chance.

The Almeida

The Almeida is a star in London’s theatrical firmament producing award- winning theatre and launching the next generation of British theatrical talent onto the world stage. CAT supported their recent production, Cold War, and many of the outreach programmes around it.

The Forward Poetry Prize

The Forward Arts Foundation promotes public knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of poetry in the UK and Ireland. CAT funds the annual Forward Book of Poetry.

The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award

The Sunday Times Young Writer Award was established in 1991 and is one of the UK’s most prestigious literary prizes. Since 2022, CAT has been the main sponsor.

The Women’s Prize (Non-Fiction Award)

The Woman’s Prize for Fiction was first awarded in 1992 and is now a literary prize of international renown. CAT will be providing the prize money for their new prize for Non-Fiction, to be awarded for the first time in 2024.

The Young Vic

The Young Vic has been one of London’s leading theatres for fifty years producing some of the capital’s most exciting theatrical events. In 2021, CAT supported James Graham’s Tony Award-winning play Best of Enemies and in 2023 the ground-breaking The Second Woman, starring Ruth Wilson.
