We have forged partnerships with literary foundations, charities and award-giving bodies. Among our partners are the Arvon Foundation, First Story, the Forward Poetry Prize, The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, The Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction and the Young Vic.
The Avron Foundation
For more than 50 years Arvon has led the teaching of creative writing in the UK. CAT is working with Arvon to help refurbish and revitalise their Hebdon Bridge site, Lumb Bank – the former home of the poet laureate Ted Hughes.
First Story is a national organisation which offers opportunities to young people in under-served schools to participate in creative writing. CAT funds its annual festival in Cambridge.
The Forward Poetry Prize
The Forward Arts Foundation promotes public knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of poetry in the UK and Ireland. CAT funds the annual Forward Book of Poetry.
The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award
The Sunday Times Young Writer Award was established in 1991 and is one of the UK’s most prestigious literary prizes. Since 2022, CAT has been the main sponsor.
The Women’s Prize (Non-Fiction Award)
The Woman’s Prize for Fiction was first awarded in 1992 and is now a literary prize of international renown. CAT will be providing the prize money for their new prize for Non-Fiction, to be awarded for the first time in 2024.
The Young Vic
The Young Vic has been one of London’s leading theatres for fifty years producing some of the capital’s most exciting theatrical events. In 2021, CAT supported James Graham’s Tony Award-winning play Best of Enemies and in 2023 the ground-breaking The Second Woman, starring Ruth Wilson.
